At this important milestone in my professional journey, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you. On behalf of the Bhubaneswar Branch, I extend warm congratulations to our national leaders:
We also place on record our appreciation to the Central Council Members from the Eastern Region:

Further, we acknowledge the leadership of the Eastern India Regional Council, including:

Recent Developments Impacting Our Profession
The accounting profession today stands at the crossroads of major transformation.
Recent Tax Reforms
Continuous GST system updates, faceless assessments, e‑invoicing expansion, AI‑based scrutiny, and tighter compliance frameworks are reshaping professional practice. Greater data integration between GST, Income‑tax, MCA, and banking systems is increasing transparency and accountability. These reforms improve efficiency but also demand higher technical expertise, ethical vigilance, and real‑time advisory skills from chartered accountants.
Artificial Intelligence & Technology
AI‑driven accounting tools, automation, and analytics are changing how audits, taxation, and advisory services are performed. While AI enhances productivity, it also brings challenges such as data privacy and cybersecurity risks, ethical concerns in automated decision‑making, the need for continuous upskilling, and maintaining professional judgment alongside automation.
Chartered accountants must therefore evolve from traditional compliance roles to strategic advisors and technology‑enabled professionals, ensuring ICAI’s core values of integrity, independence, innovation, and trust continue to guide the financial ecosystem.
I am confident that with your cooperation and goodwill, the year 2026–27 will be productive, progressive, and memorable. I warmly welcome your suggestions and feedback so that together we can make our Bhubaneswar Branch even stronger and more impactful.
With warm regards,
CA. (Dr.) Goutam Lenka
Chairperson
Bhubaneswar Branch of EIRC of ICAI
